Red Giant teamed up with Trapcode in 2006 and promised to use their engineering talent to make the popular Trapcode Plugins for visual effects and motion graphics available in more editing applications.

Trapcode Shine:

Shine is a light effect plug-in that renders quickly.The effect looks very much like volumetric light bit is actually a 2D effect. Special controls add shimmering lights and notorious colouring modes. This is an effect that you see everyday on TV and in many movie titles.

Trapcode Starglow:

Starglow is a fast-rendering glow effect. It creates a star-shaped glow around the highlights of the source. The star shape consists of eight directions and each direction can be assigned an individual colour map and streak length.

Trapcode 3D Stroke:
3D Stroke uses paths from one or more masks to render volumetric strokes that can be rotated and moved freely in 3D space. Path reveals in 3D are easily made using the keyframeable sliders for start and end points.

    • Support has been added for full 32-bit floating-point rendering for generating light rays, glows, and animated lines with the highest quality output.

  • 3D Stroke now features a series of 40 preset shapes for generating outlines or swirling strokes to captivate your audience.

    New versions of Trapcode Shine, Starglow and 3D Stroke are sold separately for £55 each. Existing users will be able to upgrade to the new multiple-hosts of Shine, Starglow and 3D Stroke for £27.50 each.
